Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to get my piano tuned?

Most pianos take between 45 minutes to and 1.5 hours. Repairs take longer.

Why does my piano need a pitch raising when it has not been tuned in a long time?

Piano string stretch and with different amounts of pressure and other factors they stretch different. To get them all to stabilize I have to stretch them all different amounts. After the stretch I do a fine tuning. This process is more work then a regular tuning.

How much will my repairs cost?

With a tuning many easy repairs are free. They are $100 an hour with a 1 hour minimum when not scheduled with a tuning. I bid repairs on sight but cannot tell you how much until I actually see the piano.

How often should I tune my piano?

Most of my customers get their piano tuned about once a year. Some more some less.
